History
Amali (E.M) High School was established by Sri. Arul Ratnam Pillai in 1973 and was run as a Minority Institution by the Society (Annai Association) constituted by him. In 1991, he transferred the Management to the R.C. Diocese of Hyderabad Deccan Society, Vijayawada under the Chairmanship of Bishop Joseph Thumma with the effect from 21.05.1991 with all assets and liabilities.
The transfer of the management has been approved by the Director of School Education, Hyderabad vide Lr. Rc. No. 771/D1/91 dated 29.05.1991 and by the Government of Andhra Pradesh Department of Education SS vide No. 1236/S.S.2/91-1 dated 05.06.1991.
Fr. M. Joji was the Correspondent of the School with effect from 6th June 1991. This appointment was approved by the DEO, Machilipatnam (RC No. 2-C7/91 dated 14.06.1991) with the recommendation of the DEO of Vijayawada (RC. No. 2/01 dated 15.06.1991). Fr. Louise Philip Sj was appointed as HM.
JMJ Sisters of Guntur Province were invited by Rt. Rev. Bishop Thumma, the General Manager of the R.C.M (EM) High School to assist the Diocese in running of the school in 1991. At first, our Sisters stayed in one of the convents in Gunadala and helped the Diocese school that is Amali (EM) High School.
Fr. Noel Harper was appointed as Correspondent on 15.09.1992 Fr. M Joiji was appointed as Bishop of Vijayawada. In 1992, the Diocese bought one more building to run K.G. Classes. Sr. Sundari Vangala, Sr. Rani Pudota and Sr. Emily were appointed to look after K.G Classes in Challapallivari Street beside Amali Campus.
In 1994 with the Correspondentship of Fr. Noel Harper, Sr. Rosy K was appointed as Headmistress of the School. As the strength of the school raised, the extension building having 12 rooms was constructed and was blessed and inaugurated on 4th February 1995 by Most. Rev. Joseph Thumma, then the Bishop of Vijayawada, on the occasion of his Episcopal Silver Jubilee.
In the year 1998, the Management of the School and the Correspondentship was handed over to JMJ Sisters. After handing over from the Diocese of Vijayawada, JMJ Sisters constructed a three storeyed building of 12 classrooms and an open hall in the third floor which was blessed by Most. Rev. Marampudi Joji then the bishop of Vijayawada and inaugurated by Rev. Sr. Stella Maris on 17th July 1999.
The complete property of the school and convent was donated to the Soc. of JMJ on 25.03.2000 - a Jubilee year gift!
With increase of strength and to improve the standards of teaching, three sections were made and the hall which was used for Seminars was divided into four Classrooms. A proposal was made to build a hall in the opposite site bought by the Society in 2003. The extension of the school into a new block was the hard work of amicable Sr. M. Theresa. This block initially acted as play ground and cycle stand. Later took a shape of 2nd campus that shattered primary students and Hall.
In 2010-2011, during the tenure of Sr. Mary Mazzarello, the school was fully equipped with Digital Smart boards for nearly 10 classrooms with Edurite, Bangalore. With the help of this, the children are able to understand their subject visually and in 3D effect.
In 2012-13, an agreement was made with Institute of Language Management (ILM), Bangalore, with 2 faculty for 9 months to improve communication skills in English from UKG to IX classes and still continuing till date.
Sr. Vijaya Rani M developed the infrastructure further by constructing a hall in the second floor of the new building for seminars and other meetings which was blessed and inaugurated on 7th June 2017 by Rev. Sr. Regina Chinnappan then the Provincial Superior of JMJ Guntur Province.
Based on the report of the external evaluation, Sr. Tresa KVM & Council, the management has decided to upgrade to plus one and plus two for which the site 1273.35 sq yards was purchased at Lakshminagar in April 2023 to extend the infrastructure of Amali School. We are ever grateful to them for their generosity.
